http://www.democracynow.org/2008/5/8/headlines

The FBI has withdrawn a national security letter issued to the Internet Archive, an online resource preserving older versions of websites. The national security letter was only revealed Wednesday under a gag order barring discussion of the case. The Internet Archive says last year the FBI demanded it hand it over extensive personal information on one of its users. The Archive says it fought the letter with the help of the ACLU and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, because it exceeded the FBI’s authority to collect information. Marcia Hofmann of the Electronic Frontier Foundation said, “A miscarriage of justice was prevented here because the Archive decided to fight the unlawful demand for information and an unconstitutional gag. The big question is, how many other improper National Security Letters have been issued by the FBI and never challenged?”

a victory for america and a huge victory for AL QAEDAPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket it's a known fact that al qaeda uses the archive to send messages, brodcast propaganda and to inform cells.just read some of the texts full blown destroy christians and jews and to form a united world around islam but americans don't care but don't blame me when they take over i shouted warnings to deaf ears to people who where content with american idol, having oprah tell them what to read and thinking obama is their saviour(lol) just remember that..no more music,no sunday afternoon picnics cooking up some chicken and pork.watching football, baseball etc...remember when bending over and praying to the east with some sweaty hairy arab's ass in front of your face that folks didn't warn you.also cover your women and your daughters will be viewed as whores only.
wish they listen to patton way back when,he saw it coming but they called him nuts.oh well they'll have to take me out before i convert to islam..fuck them..2000 years of written history has shown what radical muslim is about.so go on al qaeda and keep using the archive.

Don't knock Obama:

"I want to present a different kind of change. I want to change change. If you continue to change change then it truly becomes change whether it's technology, society, the economy, or the spreading of democracy. I want to be the president that takes change and changes it over and over again."

Actually, that was Dave Grohl's speech when launching his campaign - but hard to tell the difference.
YES WE CAN.... but don't ask me HOW.

It was an illegal invasion based on LIES. That's a fact and the deniers are the ones who are irrational.

>>>2000 years of written history has shown what radical muslim is about.>>>

Huh? Is the author of this nonsense even American? Ignorant of basic history for sure. 2000 years? 2000 years of "Christian" glory -- but we've all heard your dirty stories.

Sure freelance terrorists suck and have major karmic debt but is State terror ok? Sure the citizens of the USA should be protected, but we don't need the protection racket. Claiming self defense on the day of judgemnt won't wash when the UN Security council are the top weapons manufacturers.

The Miami 7 (and others) were set up and sprung on a convenient schedule. Come on, do the people who are supposed to protect us think they're fooling real people when the patsies asked 1st for boots -- not WMDs. The agencies should be ashamed to be led by devils in drag disguise.

Politicians in our system can do little, even if they are so inclined to work against monied interests.

Can we really forget that our Congress was SHUT DOWN after liberals and media were sent US military anthrax just before the vote on the Patriot Act?

Even the police should follow the laws -- if they do indeed believe in America.

It's ok not to know about other cultures and religions to a point, but ignorance combined with viciousness is ugly. Luckily we can still talk, but that will last only if we try to stick to the truth.

very true, and while amerikans are kowtowing to the left and right, neither of which party gives one crap about the individual person/voter, and will do or say whatever it takes to keep themselves in office, lie, cheat, steal, abuse their position; however, i just love the radical left and right, as it gives me some lovely moments of amusement to see the way folks eat up that shit; so keep on keep on lemmings all, and when they come to take you off to some isolated cell without reason, reflect back on your days of glory and ignorance and weep; the churches and the public schools have this country locked up, teaching their mystical crap, their out-right lies about history, turning true heroes of the past like Jefferson, Washington, Adams, etc into demons who should be villified; so go ahead, put your Obamas, your McCains, your Clintons up on some pedestal, then gather around and bow down and spill libations, yada, yada, yada; hell, i ain't perfect, but don't EVER ask me to kiss some pols ass, left, right, or center; keep it yourself, but don't say i didn't warn ya ...

I don't know about you, Arb. I am not gonna vote any of those Three Stooges. The flip/flopping BS that comes out of their big mouths, is only surpassed only by the brainless talking heads, who ask the same STUPID questions again and again. Boring!

United States citizens have the right to vote. Only a judge can strip us of those rights if were are convicted of a felony at trial. The Constitution gives no such power to corrupt Democratic and Republican Party bigshots; but nobody is talking federal lawsuit in Michigan or Florida. It only takes a judge to say knock off this bullshit and have an honest election in both states...

I say again, I'll be voting for US Rep Dennis Kucinich, of Ohio. He was running in the Democratic race. Too bad for that. The Big-Money-Machine made minced meat outta him. The totally-controlled Media shunned him. The pundits mocked him. WE ALL gave "that" a free Pass. Not me. I wouldn't vote for anyone else - because Kucinich is the only candidate that is sensible. He is the ONLY candidate that ALWAYS VOTED in Congress to NOT FUND the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.

YouTube search for "Kucinich out of Iraq"

Try to open your own mind, and think for yourself. Great Resource is a guy named Howard Zinn. He was a bombardier with the US Army Air Force in World War II. He is a history professor and a famous author. Howard Zinn is best known for his famous book, "A People's History of the United States." This invaluable resource is a Must-Read.

I'm shocked, simply shocked, to think our national inteligence agencies might be monitoring a public forum where myriad materials are posted. While I applaud the archive for the stance it took, perhaps telephone toughguy and rastamon can weigh in on some of the things that go on around here outside the context of whether or not today's Cornell show is overrated (it is - but still worth streaming yet again). Since I can't read arabic script, I can't say whether the things posted (like beheadings) are worthy of attention and concern.

IRS has more search and seizure power. DEA has more search and seizure power.

It is harder for government agencies to fight terror than eliminate cannabis crops, that makes sense.

Several bad guys with the Blackwater Worldwide Gang overdosed on some bad steroids and ecstasy the other day in Iraq. One of them was listening to GD, and hit upon Sugaree. They got into a big fight about best-Sugaree. Some freakin' FBI agent-in-charge dude got ahold of that old best-Sugaree thread that's been floating around here...

REPOST OF ARTICLE ORIGINALLY POSTED WAY BACK WHEN on RMGD

(guy below forgot to mention Anchorage June 21, 1980 -- oh yeah, I am addicted to Sugaree -- Monte)

1.) Within 24 hours of beginning the 'Best Sugaree' thread, at least three people (including Seth Jackson) will nominate 5/28/77.
2.) I will point out that, while it is the longest (about 19 minutes), the 17 minute 10/16/77 version is better.
3.) Someone will say we're all wrong and nominate 5/5/77.
4.) Someone else will accuse us all of being antiBrent and nominate 10/17/83.
5.) A pro/con Brent thread will branch off.
6.) 5/28/77 will get two more votes.
7.) Suggestions from knowledgable people will be made for 3/18/77, 5/19/77, 6/8/77, 12/1/79, and 12/28/79.
8.) Someone who has never heard a 1977 version will nominate a version from 1994. Nevermind that Garcia thought for the night that the second verse began with "Ran into the devil..."
9.) Someone, only having heard on tape one show from 1977, will nominate 4/27/77.
10.) Someone will nominate a version from 1973. Nevermind that all pre 1975 versions are virtually indistinguishable from one another.
11.) The pro/con Brent thread becomes a major flame war.
12.) A libertarian will pea in a cup.
13.) Someone will ask if anyone has ever heard 5/28/77.
14.) The pro/con Brent thread is busted in L.A.
15.) Someone asks if Phish ever played Sugaree.
16.) Another flame war begins.
17.) 5/28/77 is suggested for DPXII
18.) Dick gets busted in L.A.
19.) Someone asks 'What's your favorite Row Jimmy?".

What are you gonna dooo, spy-fuckers? Torture me all you will -- I'll never admit and confess which "Sugaree" is best-Sugaree. I'm a true Sugaree-addict myself. Jerry and the Boys have done me in enough already.
